The Bermuda Police Service (BPS), in partnership with Hamilton Princess, are delighted to announce the release of the latest set of collectible sports cards featuring Bermudian sporting heroes.
This month sees six new cards added to the "Bermuda Legends and Superstars" series, bringing the total released to over half of the 44-card collection. January's set features a mix of legendary figures and current stars, including:
Clarence Parfitt (Cricket Legend): A true icon of Bermudian cricket, known for his explosive bowling and leadership. Clarence Nicky Saunders (Track & Field Legend): A High Jumping sensation who won a Gold Medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, and finished 5th at the 1988 Olympic Games. Erica Hawley (Triathlon Superstar): Made her Olympic Games debut in 2024, she is a rising star in the world of Triathlon, consistently competing on the international stage. Amanda Swan (Rugby Superstar): A powerful force in Women's Rugby, representing Bermuda with distinction. Dominique Richardson (Netball Superstar): A key player for the National Netball team, showcasing her skills and athleticism. Emma Harvey (Swimming Superstar): Another who made their Olympic Games debut in 2024, the talented swimmer making waves in the pool, with a bright future ahead.
Each card features the athlete's photo, name, and sport on the front, while the reverse provides a summary of their achievements and an inspiring quote. The series comprises 11 "Legends" and 33 "Superstars" cards.
Since the launch in October 2024, 24 cards have been released thanks to the ongoing partnership with Hamilton Princess. Young people across the island are encouraged to engage positively with police officers on patrol for a chance to receive a card.
This initiative not only celebrates Bermuda's rich sporting heritage but also fosters positive relationships between young people and the police. With new cards released monthly until May 2025, the excitement is building as collectors aim to complete their sets.
