Bermuda faced a formidable challenge in their opening match of Day Two at the 2024 Rugby Americas North (RAN) Sevens tournament, falling to a dominant Canadian side 38-0. Despite the setback, Bermuda displayed unwavering determination and will seek redemption in their upcoming match against Guyana.

Canada asserted their dominance early on, with Josiah Morra opening the scoring. A successful conversion gave Canada a 7-0 lead. In the dying seconds of the first half, Elias Hancock extended Canada's advantage with two quick tries, bringing the halftime score to 17-0.

Canada continued their offensive onslaught in the second half. Cooper Coats added another try, followed by Morra's second of the match. With successful conversions, Canada built a commanding 31-0 lead. Ethan Hager sealed the victory with a try in the final minutes, ensuring a 38-0 win for Canada.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, Bermuda's players demonstrated commendable resilience and sportsmanship throughout the match. They will now regroup and focus their efforts on securing a positive result against Guyana in their next fixture.

Bermuda, determined to rebound from their earlier loss to Canada, faced Guyana in a rain-lashed battle at the RAN Sevens tournament. The match, a tense affair punctuated by dramatic moments, saw Guyana emerge with a hard-fought 12-7 victory.

The heavens opened as the game kicked off, and the players battled not only each other but also the treacherous conditions. Despite the slippery surface, both teams displayed impressive skill and determination.

Guyana struck first, with Rickford Cummings powering his way over the try line. Tyreese Prescod added the extra points with a successful conversion, giving Guyana a 7-0 lead with four minutes remaining in the first half.

As the rain intensified, the officials were forced to temporarily halt the match, adding to the drama. When play resumed, Guyana extended their advantage just before the break, as Godfrey Pollydore found a gap in Bermuda's defense to score a try. The conversion attempt was unsuccessful, leaving the score at 12-0 in Guyana's favor at halftime.

Bermuda refused to surrender and fought valiantly in the second half. With time ticking away, Hadleigh Tucker provided a spark of hope, bursting through Guyana's defense to score a try. Tucker then calmly slotted the conversion, narrowing the deficit to 12-7 with less than a minute remaining.

Despite a frantic final push, Bermuda couldn't find the equalizer, and Guyana held on for a hard-earned victory. The match, a testament to the resilience and spirit of both teams, was a fitting spectacle amidst the dramatic weather.
