Malachi Scott and the Brock Badgers Men's Basketball team faced a tough test against the No. 7 ranked Carleton Ravens, falling 78-49 at Bob Davis Gymnasium.
Carleton’s suffocating defense and sharp shooting proved too much for Brock to overcome.
Despite the loss, Davanté Hackett led Brock with a determined 13-point effort, battling tirelessly against the Ravens' formidable defense. Michael Okeke orchestrated the offense with a team-high three assists, while Nils Gesmann patrolled the boards, grabbing a game-high six rebounds for Brock.
Carleton came out firing on all cylinders, establishing an early 11-2 lead and setting the tone for the game. Their stifling defense forced turnovers and disrupted Brock's offensive rhythm, while their sharpshooters rained down three-pointers, building a commanding 45-25 lead by halftime.
Carleton maintained their momentum in the second half, extending their lead with relentless efficiency. Brock fought valiantly, but Carleton's defensive pressure and offensive firepower proved insurmountable.
Scott, a key contributor off the bench, made his presence felt during his 9 minutes on the court. He battled hard in the paint, securing 2 crucial rebounds and demonstrating his commitment to contributing on both ends of the floor.
While Brock struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 5-for-21 from three-point range, their determination and fighting spirit were evident throughout the game. They will look to learn from this experience and bounce back stronger in their upcoming matches.
