It was truly heartwarming to see the recognition of these remarkable women, nominated by their National Sport Governing Bodies (NSGBs) and the Gender Diversity & Inclusion Committee. Each honoree has made exceptional contributions to their respective sports, paving the way for future generations of female athletes.
We were particularly moved by the posthumous honor bestowed upon Judy Simons, past president of the Bermuda Olympic Association. Her legacy of leadership and advocacy for women in sport will forever be remembered.
To Patty Petty (Triathlon), Jaime Master McDowell (Equestrian), Latonia Fray (Hockey), Shona Palmer (Swimming), Shequita Parsons (Football), and Leatrice Oatley (Sailing) - your dedication to your sports is an inspiration to us all.
