IslandStats.com
The National Archery Association of Bermuda (NAAB) will be holding its Outdoor National Championships event on October 5, 2024, at Gold Point Archery Range, 65 South Side Road, St. George’s DD 03.

This will be the last outdoor event for the season as Archers in October will now prepare for the Indoor Season. The distances that will be shot at this event are 9 meters, 18 meters, 30 meters, 50 meters, 60 meters and the Olympic distance of 70 meters.

The distance of 9 to 18 meters allows our Yeoman and Bowman archers exposure to competition as part of their development. The distance of 30 meters is for the athletes13 years and older as part of their next stage of development and preparation for Regional Shoots.

The compound shooters maximum distance is 50 meters. Our Cadet and Juniors who are at the Standard to compete in International Youth Championships shoot at 60 m and 70 m. Our Senior Recurve Athletes are shooting the Olympic Distance of 70 m.

Camerin Pickering and Jaydon Roberts are two archers who will be competing in this weekend’s National competition. Both have shot the Olympic Minimum Qualification Score (640) in a World Archery Ranking event which brought them both very close to a tripartite position, if chosen at the 2024 Olympic Games. Pickering currently holds the National Record at 70 m for the Senior Recurve Men – 646/720 and Roberts currently holds the National Record at 70 m for the Junior Recurve Men – 643/720. Both will be competing in their respective categories this weekend to beat their current records.
