National Tennis Director Ricky Mallory commented, “This event provides the first experience at an international competition for the players. It’s a developmental tournament which enables them to navigate through winning and the stress of losing, while also encouraging good sportsmanship”.
BLTA president Mike Wolfe said, “I am pleased that a very active summer of tennis continues for the BLTA with the next group of players flying out tomorrow. They represent the next generation of players for Bermuda tennis. I must mention that I am especially thrilled that we are sending for the first time in a while a Girls U12 team. For the teams, this will be their first experience at an international competition and representing Bermuda, so the tennis community is behind them 110% as they take the next steps in their player development.”
