Weber State led from start to finish, and took advantage of 21 Sacramento State turnovers, on the way to a 58-53 victory over David Patrick’s Sacramento State at the Dee Events Center.
Weber State outscored Sacramento State, 19-11, in points off turnovers and that proved to be the difference in a five-point win. Sacramento State turned the ball over 11 times in the first half, and 10 times in the second half and Weber State took full advantage.
Although Weber never trailed, Sacramento State trailed by single digits the final 14:30. That included keeping things at a two-possession game the final 2:16. Sacramento State cut the deficit to three points with 1:22 remaining, and two points with nine seconds left, but Weber State answered with a bucket each time on its next possession.
