The Bermuda Netball Association hosted it first Senior League weekday match of the season at Bermuda College, where Lindos Tigers took on reigning champions Phoenix Heat.
This match brought everything a spectator could ask for with excitement from start to finish.
Phoenix Heat received a boost with the likes of veteran Goal Attack Ebonie Cox back in their line up showing her worth with key passing assists and goal scorer.
The first half of the game was evenly matched with Tigers leading the first quarter 12 - 11, while Phoenix outscored Tigers 12 - 10 in the second quarter taking them into the half leading by one with a score of 23 - 22.
Unfortunately for Tigers, their halftime substitutions would not prove effective with Phoenix taking total control of the match outscoring them 20 - 10 in the third quarter. Going into the fourth and final quarter with a 9-goal advantage with a score of 43 - 32.
The Tigers would make further substitutions in an effort to try and get back into the match, despite a valiant effort, Phoenix would prove the stronger team and eventual winner ending the match 56 - 41.
The Phoenix Heat were led by Danielle Raynor who scored 38 goals, while MVP Cox added 18 goals, with Kiante Lightbourne and K'Xiyae Gibbons outstanding Defenders for the winners.
Jahtuere Trott scored 20 goals for the Lindos Tigers and was named the teams MVP for the match, with Diara Benjamin adding 13 goals, and Candance Paynter scored 8 times. Jay-Lynn Hines was the team's best Attacker, while the top Defender was Demiqua Daniels.
