Keith De Silva the current Bermuda Hockey Federation (BHF) President recently had the privilege to attend this year's PAHF congress in Lima Peru.
De Silva said, “As always it's a great opportunity for Bermuda, as a small island to talk with the other Caribbean islands to understand their concerns and their successes and work together to grow the sport.”
Meeting De Silva was also presented with the President’s Award for Outstanding Development Work for the Sport in Bermuda.
De Silva continued, “I want everyone to be aware that the BHF have a great team of volunteers and support and I want to thank them for all their hard work and dedication, we couldn't have achieved this without them.”
“BHF’s Afternoon Funstixs program is open for registration on Racedayworld.com, with the first day of September 14th. This continues to be a great opportunity for youth ages 5-12 to learn the sport, practice skills in a fun and engaging program used by the SportWays program in their top level camps in Holland,” continued De Silva.
De Silva went on to say, “We saw great success in our Under 21 Female Youth program last year that we are currently working on a Under 16 Male Youth program. We are looking to continue the program that the youth would have been exposed to at our Saturday program and prepare them for the next levels of Field hockey in local league games and international competitions.”
De Silva concluded, “The BHF continues to offer the opportunities to be an organization that is inclusive to all ages, genders and abilities and we offer programs to more than just the youth of the island and we have an opportunity for everyone.”
