The ISBHF World Masters Championships got underway at the PCC Hockey Rink.
Austria 0 Old Glory USA 4
In the opener Old Glory USA scored four unanswered goals on their way to defeating Austria. Mark Dearbor would give Old Glory USA ahead 1 – 0 when he scored in the 4th minute, Sal Fiore would double the lead in the 13th minute, in the 32nd minute Brian Pollinger would make it 3 – 0 and then Kevin Cuocco would make it 4 – 0 in the 33rd minute.
Bermuda 3 Czech Republic 2
Bermuda would begin the tournament with a 3 – 2 win over the Czech Republic, Bermuda would take the lead in the 4th minute with a strike from Tom Worthington-White, but the Czech Republic would draw level with a goal in the 17th minute off the stick of Radek Komanec.
The Czech Republic would take the lead in the 22nd minute when Jan Příhoda scored, but Shannon Goose would score a goal in the 32nd minute that drew Bermuda level, Cory Caouette would score the winner for Bermuda in the 35th minute to earn the win.
