Tyler Smith has ruled out representing Bermuda at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games as he continues his rehab from a broken foot sustained in May of 2019.
In an interview with www.islandstats.com, Smith said, “I sustained a broken foot in May, but did not have the operation until September, competing in events in between.”
Smith said, “When I am looking at 2020, I am just hoping for a healthy 2020, it has been a struggle at time.”
“I was hoping to secure a spot for Bermuda for 2020, but I am still young, so if all goes well, I can do the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and then look towards the Olympics in 2024,” continued Smith.
