The Bermuda Triathlon Association will be closing out the 2019 Triathlon season with a Mixed Team Relay event on Monday November 4th in the Town of St. George, beginning at 9am.
The event is being supported by the Bank of Bermuda Foundation.
Race Director Aaron Smith said, “As you know, the race format will feature at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and took place at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where Bermuda’s team of Flora Duffy, Erica Haley, Tyler Smith and Tyler Butterfield placed 5th.
The format is 2 female and 2 male participants per team (although we’re allowing some variations with school teams).
“The race order will see female-male-female-male (and we’re making teams for this initial event a mixture of 2 juniors and 2 adults). Participants can sign up as teams or as individuals (in which case race organizers will place them accordingly),” continued Smith.
Each team member will complete the entire 200m swim, 5km Bike and 1km run before tagging off to the next team member.
Race categories will include Open, Schools, Corporate and Family and prizes will be issued for each category.
