Five Bermuda long distance Triathletes took part in the Ironman 70.3 North Carolina.
Steve Smith finished 58th in the Men’s 45-49 Age Group in 5:20.39, Smith clocked 27.34 over the 1.2 mile Swim, 2:57.09 on the 56 mile Bike Course and 1:46.24 during the 13.1 mile Run Course.
Christine Soutter had the best Bermuda finish by age group as she finished in 40th place in the Women’s 40-44 Age Group clocking a time of 5:46:10. Soutter clocked 28:55 on the Swim, the Bike Course was clocked at 2:48:18 and the Run Course time was 2:18:50.
Caroline Wright and Jennie Lightbourne also competed in the Women’s 40-44 Age Group Division, Wright finished 50th in 5:58:36, she clocked a Swim time of 26:07, a Bike time of 2:52:05 and a time of 2:31:13 during the Run. Lightbourne finished 95th in 6:45:12.
Melanie Sousa was 122nd in the Women’s 45-49 Age Group clocking 8:39:34.
