All the attention may have been on Flora Duffy over the last few weeks as she concluded an outstanding performance over the year that ended at the World Championships in Rotterdam.
But what many would not know is that Bermuda was represented in the Official capacity as Patty Petty was an official at the World Championships in Rotterdam.
Petty has officiated the Triathlon competition at the London Olympic and Rio Olympic Games.
One of the Bermuda Triathlon Association's founding members, Petty, has her debut officiating in the sport of Triathlon in 2006 when she was invited by the International Triathlon Union, the Governing Body for the Sport, to join the team at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia.
Since then she has been fortunate to officiate in several major events including World Championships, Pan American Games, World Triathlon Championship Series and World Cups.
Her love for the sport has brought her onboard as an Executive and Technical committee member of the Bermuda Olympic Association, as well as a Board member of the Bermuda Triathlon Association. She also serves on the International Triathlon Union Constitution Committee.
Petty along with her husband, Steven Petty, Jim Butterfield, Suthy Madeiros and the late John Cash were the founding members of the Bermuda Triathlon Association which has been in existence for more than thirty years.
