Tyler Smith and Erica Hawley competed in their first race of season, as they lined up for the ITU Central American and Caribbean Junior Triathlon Championships in Costa Rica.
Conditions were very hot, very windy on a very hilly course but Smith and Hawley proved they were ready, Smith finished third and Hawley finished second.
Smith crossed the line in a time of 1:13.05, while Hawley stopped the clock in a time of 1:21.26.
Smith clocked a time of 12:43 during the Swim and then 40:47 on the Bike and he was up to 5th starting Run and he was able to move up two more places after clocking a Run time of 18:27.
Hawley was the first female out of the water recording a time of 12:59, she then had a battle on the bike with Raquel Solis Guerrero from Costa Rica clocking a time of 46:06 and then she closed out with a run time of 20:58.
