The 2nd round of the Bermuda Amateur Stroke Play Championships was played today in very pleasant conditions with light winds at Port Royal Golf Course.
In the Ladies Division, Vanessa Chychrun shot an even-par round of 71, which combined with her 74 in round 1 has her leader in the Ladies Championship Division. A hole-in-one on the 96-yard 3rd hole was undoubtedly helpful! She is followed by Ebonie Cox who scored a very respectable 75 today.
In the Senior Ladies Division, Tracy Burgess maintained her lead after a steady round and has an 8-shot lead over second place Linda Down.
In the Senior Menís Division, Rod Forrest maintained his steady form and shot a solid one-over par round of 72, for the second day in a row, and is closely followed by Hav Trott who is only 4-strokes behind.
In the Menís Championship Division, a steady even par round of 71 has kept Will Haddrell in the lead, but he is closely pursued by Jarryd Dillas who is only 3 strokes behind.
The 3rd round gets underway at 7.30 am on Sunday and with favorable weather conditions, there is plenty of potential for someone to shoot a low round and come from behind to take the championship title.
Quite amazingly, we have had two hole-in-ones in this tournament. In Round 1, Ed Frey scored a hole-in-one on hole #16, and in Round 2, Vanessa Chychrun made a hole-in-one on hole #3.
