The APGA Tour Farmers Insurance brings together 18 APGA Tour players including Bermuda’s Daniel Augustus to compete for a $100,000 purse on the North and South Courses at Torrey Pines Golf Course.
The field consists of players who qualify throughout the previous year’s APGA Tour season via the Lexus Cup points list, the Farmers Insurance Fall Series standings, the APGA Collegiate Rankings, the APGA Cisco Junior Series, and committee exemptions.
The final round of the season-opening APGA Tour event is televised nationally on Golf Channel to showcase the APGA on a PGA TOUR venue following the conclusion of the Farmers Insurance Open.
Augustus spoke about the Ocean View Golf Course in his profile, "Ocean View was the first golf course black golfers were able to play in Bermuda. Twenty black players built the course. It was basically a muni, a nine-hole course that was less than 3,000 yards long and tight, but it’s home to me."
