Oliver Betscheart playing in a tournament on the Southern Texas (STPGA) Junior Tour at Riverside Golf Course, San Antonio, Texas posted an impressive score of 2-under 70, on the 6237-yard par 72 course, to claim the victory by 9 strokes.
In breezy 15 to 20 mph winds, Betschart logged 3 Birdies and one Bogey in the Boy’s 13-14 Age Group Division in a field of 15, and 1st overall for the tournament field of 61.
Betschart’s coach said, “It was a beautiful round.”
Betschart said, “I felt really good, the weather was warmer and I hit a monster 350-yard drive on the 505-yard par 5, 1st hole, and just lipped out an Eagle Putt for Birdie, I have to mention that it was downwind, but it gave me a good start.
It was another great win because it was the first time that I shot under par in a tournament, and I am happy that I could do it on my mom’s birthday.”
