The 2020 Bermuda Championship starts tomorrow at Port Royal Golf Course, Southampton. The field of 132 players are vying for the $4 million purse, 500 FedExCup points, and a spot in the 2021 Masters tournament. The Bermuda Championship is the first PGA TOUR tournament to allow fans since the COVID restart. No Tickets Available at the Gate All spectators, regardless of age, must have a ticket to access the grounds of the Port Royal Golf Course. Friday Saturday and Sunday tickets are sold out. COVID-19 Safety Protocols for All Face masks are required upon entry and at all times around the golf course unless stopped to eat or drink. Additional spectator protocols will include temperature checks for entry, social distancing with six feet of separation, and the use of hand sanitizer, with units placed throughout the venue. For the safety of spectators and players, autographs will not be permitted. Clear Bag Policy in Effect Certain items are restricted at PGA Tour events. Bags will be searched upon entering the event. • Bags and purses must be smaller than 6” x 6”. Clear bags measuring 12” x 6” x 12” or less will be permitted.
Please note, the tournament does not provide a “bag check” facility so plan accordingly. Great Way to Start Ryder Cup captain and three-time major winner Padraig Harrington will tee off the tournament on Hole #1 at 7:35 a.m. with Matt Jones and Kelly Kraft.
Three of a Kind Defending Bermuda Championship winner Brendon Todd tees off at 8:05 a.m. off Hole #10. He is grouped with 2016 Masters Champion Danny Willett and 2013 PGA Championship winner Jason Dufner. Afternoon Delight 2009 Open Championship winner Stewart Cink will play with Pat Perez and 2016 Open Champion Henrik Stenson, teeing off at 12:35 p.m. from the first tee. Support Local Three Bermudians are in the field, and will all play in the afternoon on Thursday. Anthony Phipps tees off at 1:25 p.m. on #10 while Camiko Smith starts at 1:35 p.m. on #10 and Michael Sims tees off at 1:45 p.m. on #1. Golden Birthday Port Royal Golf Course is celebrating its 50th Anniversary tomorrow. The course opened on October 29, 1970.
