Competing at the Winter Equestrian Festival, Bermuda equestrian Cody Rego has done it again!
Riding Ironman, Rego won the ASPCA Maclay Class (Section A Division).
By way of background, each year, hundreds of top junior riders seek to qualify for the ASPCA MACLAY FINALS, which will be held at the National Horse Show from October 25th – November 5th.
In order to reach the FINALS, riders must first qualify to compete in the ASPCA Maclay REGIONALS. In order to qualify for REGIONALS, riders compete in Maclay classes held at USEF-sanctioned horse shows throughout the qualifying year ending 31st August. Only riders securing the requisite points are invited to compete at the ASPCA Maclay REGIONAL events.
Qualified riders will then vie for top placings in REGIONALS in order to advance onto the prestigious ASPCA MACLAY FINALS.
In addition, this dynamic duo placed 1st in the WIHS Hunter Phase with an impressive score of 93 points. They went on to place 2nd in the Jumper Phase thereby securing 1st place in the WIHS OVERALL Division.
The WIHS FINALS will be held at the Washington International Horseshow from October 23rd – 29th.
And to complete today’s achievements, Rego and Ironman finished 3rd in the Dover Saddlery /USEF Hunter Seat Medal Section A-Class.
