Peters & Connecticut College Season Schedule Announced

IslandStats.com
Caelin Peters and his Connecticut College Men's Basketball program announced its schedule for the 2022-23 season.

Connecticut College will play a total of 24 regular season games in the upcoming year, a challenging schedule that could potentially include seven match-ups against NCAA Tournament qualifiers from a year ago. Two of those teams will visit Luce Field House, where Connecticut College will play host on 11 dates.

"We are excited about the schedule we've been able to put together," said head coach Tim Sweeney. "In addition to maintaining many of our long-standing regional rivalries, we've added some exciting games against NCAA Tournament and Top 25 caliber teams. All of this will prepare us for what is always an incredibly tough conference slate."

A pair of in-season tournaments highlight the non-conference portion of the schedule. Conn opens the season at the LaFrance Hospitality Classic against host UMass Dartmouth on November 11th, with a match-up against Kean or Westfield State looming in the second round. Later in the season, the Camels will take part in the Emory Holiday Classic on December 29th – 30th in Atlanta.

Connecticut College will make four more trips out of the state before the winter break, with dates at SUNY Purchase, Salve Regina, Mount Saint Vincent and Baruch on the calendar. The non-conference slate also features home games against Roger Williams, Eastern Connecticut State, Coast Guard Academy, Mitchell, Johnson & Wales and Albertus Magnus.

Connecticut College opens NESCAC play at home against Tufts on January 6th, the first of 10 league clashes that lead up to the annual conference tournament. The top eight teams in the league will qualify for the 2023 NESCAC Championship, with the title game set for February 26th.

Sweeney returns 11 letter winners and four starters from a squad that made significant strides last season. Connecticut College qualified for the NESCAC Championship for the first time since 2011 and hosted their first tournament game in 20 years.
