The Bermuda Day Half Marathon Derby Committee have issued an update.
“At the moment, the 2020 Bermuda Half Marathon Derby is still scheduled for Friday, May 29th at 8:30am, starting in Somerset.
A lot of preparation has already gone into the event, and the Derby committee is thrilled to see that approximately 90 runners have signed up this far. Dr. Tucker is hopeful that the runners will still get a chance to hit the pavement that day as running is 'good for the soul’. She assures all participants that they will not lose their registration fee should the race be cancelled.
We will be following official government recommendations as the situation with Covid-19 evolves. There is a possibility of delaying or cancellation of the event, but we will cross that bridge if/when that happens. (We hope it doesn't!)
Derby President Dr. Gina Tucker plans to keep everyone updated of the situation as soon as there is more information available."
