BSSF Middle School Cross Country 2020

Saltus Grammar School were crowned Overall Champions at the Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Cross Country Championships held at the Arboretum.

Saltus finished the competition in first place with 221 points with Warwick Academy finishing 47 point back with 268 points.

Jada Grant from Saltus Grammar School won the Under 13 Girls race by 41 seconds in a time of 13.14. Camryn Lines and Ava Pedro from BHS rounded out the top three sports. Saltus edged out BHS for team honors by two points after scoring 33 points. Somersfield Academy finished a distant third with 120 points.

Warwick Academy grabbed the top four positions in the Under 13 Boys Division with Nyan Grant leading the way. Grant was in third place after completing the first two laps but came strong in the final lap to win in 12:20 ahead of classmates Xavi Derosa and Callum MacFarlane. Warwick easily won the team award with 20 points followed by Saltus on 65 and Somersfield on 106

Jasmin Hasselkuss led three Warwick Academy runners to claim Gold in the Over 13 Girls race in a time of 12.51. She finished ahead of the Warwick Trio of Adrian Argent, Daria Desmond and Bella Howes. Despite three top four finishers Warwick Academy finished second behind Saltus Grammar School in the Team Division with BHS finishing third.

Eoghan Homan led from start to finish to win the Over 13 Boys race. The Somersfield Academy student crossed the line in a time of 11.54. Warwick Academy classmates Kaej Stovell and Harlan Watson-Brown finished second and third. Warwick finished ahead of Somersfield Academy in the Team Division with 39 points. Somersfield finished with 61 with Saltus coming third with 71 points
