Bermuda Special Olympians Greeted by the Premier

Supporters turned out in numbers again today as they did on Friday Night at the LF Wade International Airport to welcome and congratulate Bermuda’s Special Olympians who competed in the Special Olympics 2019 held in Abu Dhabi.

Premier David Burt and a host of Members of Parliament, joined relatives and friends for the special occasion as the team’s motorcade arrived at the Cabinet Building.

Premier Burt commended Team Bermuda on their performance and welcomed them back home.

“What an amazing caliber of athletes we have,” said Burt.

“Today we celebrate your achievements at the Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019–you have all made Bermuda extremely proud.

“I know that attending the Special Olympics was a major goal, and you worked very hard to meet all of the necessary requirements to get there.

“You should all be extremely proud of your success – as all of Bermuda is. I would like to also extend our thanks to the organizers, coaches, volunteers and family who supported and assisted Team Bermuda,” he added.

“Your commitment and participation furthers the mission of the Special Olympics.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Bermuda I extend heartfelt congratulations these determined athletes, our champions – you exhibited great skill and talent and again I will say, well done Team Bermuda.
