A dramatic few days of snooker saw Warwick Workman's Club One pull off a thrilling upset in the Keen Cup, but they would fall to their Keen Cup Semi-Final opponents in the Island Construction Services Cup. Meanwhile, Spanish Point Boat Club Two proved their resilience with a pair of impressive victories.

Warwick Workman's Club One booked their place in the Keen Cup Semi-Final with a 3-2 victory over Spanish Point Boat Club Two. The match went down to the wire, with Gary Bascome emerging as the hero for Warwick.

Richard Burton drew first blood for Spanish Point, narrowly defeating Pamela Quadroy 54-44. Winslow Smith leveled the score for Warwick with a walkover, before Tyler Moniz put Spanish Point back in front with a 48-34 win over Keith Smith.

Bascome then stepped up for Warwick, first forcing a tiebreaker with a 67-48 victory over Alan Smith, and then sealing the win with a dominant 68-32 performance in the decider.

In a preview of the Keen Cup Semi-Final, RAA picked up a convincing 3-1 win over Warwick Workman's Club One in the Island Construction Services Cup.

Winslow Smith briefly gave Warwick the lead with a 56-8 win over Kenya Trott, but RAA quickly found their rhythm. Keino Zuill leveled the score with a 64-28 win over Bascome, before Kyle Williams picked up a 66-27 win over Keith Smith, and Aaron Bean won 58-20 over Quadroy to secure the victory.

Sandys Boat Club also enjoyed a successful day, cruising to a 4-1 victory over Warwick Workman's Club One. Paul Fedden and Peter Bromby starred for Sandys, with Fedden winning both of his singles matches and Bromby adding a singles and doubles victory.

Bermuda Snooker Players Make History at International Tournament

Bermuda's Snooker Stars made a resounding impact at the International Snooker League Fall Tournament held at the prestigious New York Athletic Club. Pamela Quadroy etched her name in the history books by becoming the first female player ever to reach the semi-final of the Singles Handicap competition. Her impressive run was narrowly halted by Canada's Joel Patterson in a nail-biting 2-1 decision.

Steven Bremar also showcased his skills, reaching the semi-final of the Singles Handicap competition before falling to the eventual champion, USA's Justin Bolebruch. The tournament culminated in an all-Bermuda final in the scratch competition, where Bremar faced off against his compatriot and home rival, Paul Fedden. Fedden emerged victorious with a 3-0 sweep, though the scoreline belied the intensity and close competition of the match.

Bermuda to Host Spring Tournament

The International Snooker League will return to its birthplace, Bermuda, for the spring tournament, scheduled for May 20th - 24th, 2025, at the Spanish Point Boat Club. Players from the USA, Canada, Ireland, and England will converge on the island to compete for the title.

Bermuda Pool League Round-Up

The Bermuda International Pool League is heating up, with every match a potential upset and every shot a chance for glory, in the latest round of action, matches erupted in a whirlwind of cue-slinging action, with upsets, nail-biters, and dominant displays setting the stage for a spicy league season.

The Rangers Blue, lurking in fifteenth place, unleashed a stunning upset, sinking the thirteenth-place PORC Stunners with a decisive 220-166 victory. The Stunners were left reeling as the Rangers stormed the table, leaving no doubt about their hunger for victory.

Meanwhile, the league-leading Bus Boyz continued their reign of terror, crushing the eighteenth-place RAA Ballbusters with a commanding 231-155 win. The Ballbusters fought valiantly, but the Bus Boyz were simply too hot to handle, showcasing their championship-caliber skills.

The Queens Club Kings, sitting pretty in fifth place, delivered a royal beatdown to the seventeenth-place Warwick Gladiators, racking up a 232-149 victory. The Gladiators fought bravely, but the Kings' precision and power proved too much to overcome.

However, the Queens Club Bishops, languishing in sixteenth place, couldn't conjure the same magic, falling to the fourth-placed BAA Rhinos with a 204-137 defeat. The Rhinos charged through the match, leaving the Bishops scrambling to keep up.

The Mariners Vikings, sailing smoothly in third place, narrowly escaped with a 194-187 victory over the seventh-placed Queens Club Knights. The Knights put up a valiant fight, pushing the Vikings to the brink in a nail-biting finish.

In another close encounter, the fourteenth-place PORC United nearly pulled off an upset, but ultimately succumbed to the second-place Warwick Bombadiers with a 205-195 defeat. The Bombadiers, known for their explosive play, narrowly avoided disaster, holding on for a hard-fought victory.

The Spanish Point Potters, simmering in tenth place, cooked up a storm, defeating the ninth-placed Bailey's Bay Cricket Club with a 207-175 victory. The Potters' fiery performance sent a message to the rest of the league that they are a force to be reckoned with.

The Queens Club Dragons, battling in twelfth place, were narrowly edged out by the sixth-placed RAA Ballistics in a 189-187 thriller. The Dragons fought tooth and nail, but the Ballistics' precision proved to be the difference-maker.

And finally, the eleventh-placed Cleveland Chargers couldn't generate enough spark, falling to the eighth-placed St. George's with a 216-166 defeat. St. George's, fueled by their home-turf advantage, delivered a dominant performance, leaving the Chargers searching for answers.

The Bus Boyz have three players in the top five on the Individual Leaderboard.

Mike Deleon from the Bus Boyz leads the standings with a score of 46.50%, GaryBascome from the BAA Rhinos is in second with a score of 44.00%, Keino Zuill is in third with a score of 43.63% representing the Bus Boyz.

In fourth place is Jamel Smith from the Queen’s Club Dragons with a score of 42.75%, and Loren Marshall from the Bus Boyz is in fifth with a score of 42.38%.

Bremar Has A Season to Remember Forever

2023/24 saw Steven Bremar put in arguably the best performance of his career, completing a sensational quadruple, winning the Tony DeSilva Memorial Cup, the Bermuda Open Singles, the Bermuda Open Doubles with partner, Zane DeSilva & then finally, winning the scratch tournament at the ISL (International Snooker League) tournament in Toronto, Canada.

Bremar capped of the domestic season by winning an epic battle in the Bermuda Open Doubles with partner DeSilva against fellow finalists, Gary Bascome and Richard Burton.

It was Bascome and Burton who took an early lead, however, winning the 1st game on the black, 52-43.

Bremar and DeSilva then leveled at 1-1, taking the 2nd game 44-21.

Bremar and DeSilva, building on the success of the 2nd game, took a 2-1 lead when they overcame Bascome and Burton 67-29 in the 3rd game.

Bascombe and Burton stormed back in the 4th game however, taking it 63-42 to level the match at 2-2 and force a tiebreaker.

After a monumental battle in the 5th game, which ended in a tied game score of 47 each, it was Desilva who sealed the win for Bremar and DeSilva when he potted the final, re-spotted Black Ball to take the title, 54-47.

At the end-of-season award ceremony, Bremar was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the President of the Bermuda Snooker Association, Paul Fedden, in recognition of a prolific career, spanning several decades.

It did not end there for Bremar however, as he returned from the International Snooker League tournament in Toronto, Canada, having secured a memorable victory against New York Athletic Club's Ian O'Mahony in the prestigious scratch tournament, 3 Games to 1.

Speaking on the team's return, President, Fedden commended Bremar for his historic quadruple win, saying, “Bremar had written his place in Bermudian sporting history as one of the most decorated players the island has ever seen'. His team also won the league this season! This incredible achievement will likely never be equaled.”

All eyes will now be on Bermuda next May, when the International Snooker League returns to the island, hosted by the Bermuda Snooker Association, with players from across the globe flying in to compete at the highest level in the most beautiful setting in the world. Definitely one to look forward to.
