Rest of the World produced a commanding display on the baize to dethrone defending champions Team Bermuda with a 9-5 victory in the Bascome–Falzone Cup.
Staged by the Bermuda International Pool League, the marquee tournament honours two foundational figures of the local cue sports scene—Bermuda's Gary Bascome and Mr Falzone—bringing together the island's premier players for a fiercely contested international showdown.
Facing off against a formidable Team Bermuda line-up that entered the clash as reigning holders, Rest of the World seized control through disciplined potting and clinical tactical safety play.
The victorious Rest of the World team, comprised of Todd Dziak, Peejay Samson, Karl Wilson, Richard Burton, and Anthony Maynard, held their nerve across a marathon session to steadily build a decisive advantage and seal a well-deserved triumph.
Defending champions Team Bermuda—represented by Mark Iris, Mike Deleon, Kidd Mouchette, Fred Richardson, Loren Marshall, and Hilton Brown—mounted a resilient defence of their crown, producing flashes of brilliance to keep the contest competitive before Rest of the World pulled away in the closing racks.
The result marks a memorable chapter in the event's history, capping an intense tournament that highlighted the depth of top-level pool talent currently competing on the island.
