Racing over the 5,000-metre layout, the duo spearheaded a productive outing for Mercersburg Academy across both the boys' and girls' divisions.
In the boys' 5K, Joseph Cechini produced a well-judged effort at the head of the field, stopping the clock in 18 minutes 37.44 seconds to cross the line as individual runner-up. His performance anchored Mercersburg Academy's boys' squad to top honours in the team standings, securing first place with an aggregate time of 1 hour 35 minutes 17.2 seconds.
Gabriella Cechini mirrored her brother's podium achievement in the girls' 5K contest. She navigated the rolling campus terrain in 19 minutes 25.75 seconds to secure second place individually.
Her front-running display helped guide the Mercersburg Academy girls' team to second overall with a combined finishing time of 1 hour 53 minutes 48.0 seconds, capping a memorable family double on home turf.
