Bermudian duo Kaden Hopkins and Nic Narraway tested themselves against the world's cycling elite as the 2026 UCI Road World Championships got underway in Montreal.
Taking on a technical yet largely flat 39.2-kilometre course in the elite men's individual time trial, both riders delivered determined performances in Quebec against an unforgiving international field.
Belgium’s Remco Evenepoel produced a masterclass to claim the rainbow jersey, blitzing the course in a blistering 44 minutes and 53 seconds.
Hopkins led the island's charge with a disciplined ride, stopping the clock in 49:41 to claim 40th place overall, four minutes and 48 seconds adrift of Evenepoel’s benchmark.
Narraway followed closely behind on the demanding circuit. The young Bermudian battled through to cross the line in 51:10, six minutes and 17 seconds behind the newly crowned world champion, to finish 46th.
