Bermuda’s junior cyclists capped off a stellar weekend at the 2026 Caribbean Junior Road Cycling Championships in Belize, adding two more medals in the road races to finish the competition with a total of four podium finishes.
Following double silver in Saturday's individual time trials, the team navigated crashes and intense competition on Sunday to claim silver and bronze in the Juvenile Men's road race alongside a courageous top-six finish in the Junior Men's event.
Eiselt and Drea Double Up in Juvenile Race
In the 62.4-kilometre Juvenile Men’s road race, Dylan Eiselt captured his second silver medal of the championships, crossing the line in 1:58:24. Teammate Jens Drea joined him on the podium to take bronze in 1:58:51, making amends after narrowly missing out in fourth place in the time trial.
Jonah MacGuinness produced one of the most resilient rides of the day. Despite being brought down in a crash, MacGuinness remounted to fight his way back into the race and cross the line in 10th place with a time of 2:07:37.
Wright Battles Back After Junior Men Crash
The 93.6-kilometre Junior Men's race began in dramatic fashion, with both Jacob Wright and Keon Stevens caught up in an opening-lap crash.
While Stevens was forced to withdraw from the race—though later confirmed to be okay—Wright managed to get back in the saddle. The time-trial silver medallist mounted a determined solo recovery through the field, completing the gruelling distance in 2:54:17 to secure sixth position.
