Bermudian track prospects Raelyn and Reyna Robinson turned heads with a series of blisteringly fast performances at the Flying Angels International Track Meet in Canada.
The standout performance came from sprint sensation Raelyn Robinson, who completely dominated the Under-9 Girls' 100m Division to capture a Gold Medal for the island.
Raelyn laid down a serious marker in the preliminary rounds, lighting up the track with a blistering time of 15.20 seconds to qualify fastest for the final.
Faced with the pressure of the gold-medal race, she delivered yet another masterclass in acceleration. While slightly off her blazing preliminary time, Raelyn comfortably crossed the line in 15.40 seconds to secure first place and claim the international title.
Not to be outdone, younger compatriot Reyna Robinson gave a superb account of herself in the Under-8 Girls' 100m Division.
Competing in a heavily stacked field, Reyna stopped the clock at a highly respectable 19.63 seconds in her preliminary heat. While the time was just outside the qualification cut-off for the final, her technical execution against top-tier international opposition bodes exceptionally well for the future of Bermuda sprinting.
The Flying Angels International Meet regularly attracts the finest junior talent from across North America and the Caribbean, making the young Robinson duo's trip to the podium a significant milestone in their early athletic development.
