Stars Align for Bermuda’s Ultimate Week of Racing

IslandStats.com
The battle for Bermuda's most prestigious cycling titles is almost here as the Bermuda Bicycle Association prepares to host the 2026 National Championship Week.

The island's elite overseas professionals—including local powerhouses Kaden Hopkins, Conor White, and defending time-trial champion Nicholas Narraway—are set to return to home soil, setting the stage for a spectacular four days of high-octane racing.

The action gets underway on Thursday, June 25th, with the National Time Trial Championships at Clearwater, Southside. The ultimate individual test of truth returns as riders tackle the clock, completely exposed to the coastal winds.

The first rider will roll off the ramp at 6:00 p.m., navigating a flat but demanding one-lap loop.

The Course: Starting on Southside Road just west of the police station, riders will head east onto Tommy Fox Road, making a sharp 180-degree turn just before the Texas Road junction. They will trace their steps back down Southside Road all the way west to the baseball field before Double Dip, executing a second 180-degree turn before sprinting back to the start/finish line.

National Champion jerseys will be awarded to the fastest Bermudian men and women, with fierce championship battles also taking place across the Open, Masters, Junior,

Just three days later, on Sunday, June 28th, the focus shifts to St. David's for the grueling National Road Race Championships. Starting at 8:00 a.m., fields will collide in a true test of tactics, positioning, and sheer determination.

The Open Men face a punishing 62-mile battle (six laps of the course), while championship jerseys are also up for grabs in the Open Women, Masters Men, Junior Men, and Junior Women divisions.

The circuit promises to test the riders' limits, combining technical corners with the exposed, windy expanses of the Causeway.

1.The Launch:Clearwater Beach.
Riders line up on Coopers Island Road, just past the Clearwater Beach parking lot, heading north toward the first roundabout.

2.The Loop Circuit:St. David's Road.
The peloton proceeds onto Pepper Hall Road, turning left onto Tommy Fox Road before hanging a right at the roundabout to climb up onto St. David’s Road.

3.The Long Haul:The Causeway & Blue Hole Hill.
Riders will push through the roundabout onto Kindley Field Road, attacking the full length of the Causeway. They will climb Blue Hole Hill to the roundabout, execute a full turn, and hammer right back across the Causeway.

4.The Finish Approach:Return to Clearwater.
The field retraces their path via St. David's Road, turning right at Pepper Hall Road (by Clearwater School), right onto Tommy Fox, and left back onto Pepper Hall before hitting Coopers Island Road for the final sprint.

With national pride on the line and professional jerseys awaiting the top Bermudian male and female finishers in the Open and Junior fields, Bermuda's cycling elite are primed for an unforgettable week on the tarmac.
