Bermudian international defender Harry Twite has handed Basford United a massive boost ahead of the 2026-27 campaign by officially committing his future to the club.
The towering 20-year-old centre-back, who is equally comfortable operating at right-back, initially arrived at the Ambers in March 2026 following a mid-season switch from Northern Premier League rivals Loughborough Students.
Twite made an instant impact upon his arrival in Nottinghamshire. He was fast-tracked straight into the starting eleven by the management duo of Gandi and Saul, immediately anchoring a resolute defensive unit to a clean sheet in a gritty 1-0 debut victory over Corby Town.
His defensive composure proved pivotal during the business end of the 2025-26 season, helping guide Basford United to the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Cup final, as well as securing a crucial home play-off semi-final spot following a dramatic win over Rugby Borough in April.
Having risen rapidly through the ranks—including captaining the Bermuda Under-20 national team and becoming a mainstay in Michael Findlay's senior international squad—Twite’s decision to extend his stay represents a significant statement of intent for the Ambers.
With his paperwork finalized for the upcoming season, the former King's Lynn Town and Wisbech Town defender will look to establish himself as the definitive cornerstone of the Basford backline as they eye a heavy promotion push.
