Cardiff eye Tyrer Deal & Bermudian Trio feature in UK Cup Action

Cardiff City are set to sign Everton goalkeeper Harry Tyrer on a permanent contract as they look to bolster their promotion-chasing squad.

The 24-year-old is scheduled to undergo a medical before finalising his move to the Welsh capital. While the Bluebirds are currently operating under a transfer embargo, club officials are confident the restriction will be lifted by the end of the week following the submission of their accounts.

Tyrer’s arrival will inject fresh competition into the goalkeeping department. He joins a squad where Bermudian Nathan Trott has excelled while on loan from Copenhagen, alongside current second-choice Matt Turner.

In the Isthmian League Cup, Bermudian pair Colridge Fubler and Remi Coddington enjoyed a successful night at Hill Farm Lane.

Facing local rivals Ascot United for the third time this season, Binfield FC secured a convincing 3-1 victory. The win marks a significant result for "The Moles," who have traded blows with Ascot throughout the current campaign.

There was less luck for Milan Butterfield and Halesowen Town, who were eliminated from the Birmingham Senior Cup after a 2-1 defeat to Leamington.

Leamington took the lead after just 90 seconds through Seb Thompson before Tim Berridge doubled the advantage with a stunning 30-yard solo run. Halesowen’s hopes of a comeback were dented when Jim Kellermann saw his second-half penalty saved by Rogan Ravenhill.

Despite a late tap-in from Ty Barnett following Fin Holmes’ cross, Halesowen Town couldn't find a late equalizer to force a shootout.
