North Village Rams 2 Paget Lions 2
A gripping Premier Division battle at Bernard Park saw defending champions North Village Rams forced to share the points with Paget Lions in a 2-2 draw, a result that satisfies neither side’s immediate agenda.
The game, which featured North Village attempting to take sole possession of first place and Paget looking to pull themselves out of the relegation discussion, came alive in the second half following a scoreless opening period.
Paget Lions struck first in the 52nd minute when Daniel Cook found the back of the net with a powerful volley from the edge of the box. However, the lead was short-lived; just six minutes later, North Village Rams were level, with Jalen Harvey finishing from close range.
The Paget Lions roared back in the 76th minute, reclaiming the lead after they were awarded a penalty that was confidently put away by Kion Knights.
The drama continued deep into the second half. North Village’s Harvey secured a crucial point for the champions when he levelled the score once again in the 86th minute, this time with a header to make it 2-2.
With the teams sharing the points, the North Village Rams moved level with leaders Dandy Town Hornets atop the Premier Division table. The single point was also valuable for the Paget Lions, who drew level on six points with the St. George’s Colts, providing a small but vital boost in their fight against relegation.
