Race Director Heather Cooper stated, “Every year, the Butterfield Mile captures the spirit, speed, and community pride that make the Chubb Bermuda Triangle Challenge so special, and 2026 will be no exception. Whether you’re a young runner chasing your first starting-line thrill, a seasoned competitor aiming for a personal best, or one of our beloved mascots ready to bring the fun to Front Street, we want YOU on the course with us.

The Trials on December 12th are your chance to earn a place in one of Bermuda’s most electrifying races and showcase your talent, and the second annual mascot race promises to be bigger, bolder, and more entertaining than ever. Lace up, suit up, and sign up. Let’s make this a mile to remember!”

Newly elected Bermuda National Athletics Association President Jarita Vickers remarked, “As I reflect on the excitement and legacy of the Butterfield Mile, I recall my own memories as a primary school entrant “running under the lights on Front Street,” energized by the crowd and inspired by the island’s best. It was always a night full of energy, nerves, and standout performances—an event that showed Bermuda’s remarkable depth of talent over the one-mile distance. The Butterfield Mile has long been a premier staple event for both the athletics community and the general public, serving as a powerful reminder that participation in athletics on the island continues to thrive. I am looking forward to an exceptional night of trials on December 12th and strongly encourage parents to get their children registered to be part of this celebrated event.”

The CBTC is an international three-day running event that will begin on Friday, January 16, 2065, with the Butterfield Mile, continues Saturday, January 17, 2026, with the All Shores10k & 5k events, and culminates on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with the PwC Bermuda Marathon, Bermuda Half Marathon, and Bermuda Half Marathon Relay.

Runners also have the option of running the Full Triangle Challenge or the Half Triangle Challenge, which sees participants complete three races in three days: the mile on Friday, the 10k on Saturday, and either the full marathon or half marathon on Sunday.
