Smith and Ruiz Take Honours at Swans Turkey Trot 8K

Sanchez Smith secured his long-awaited victory in the men's race, while Teresa Ruiz continued her strong form in the women's division, as both runners were crowned champions at the Swans Running Club / Northshore Medical Turkey Trot 8K.
Sanchez Smith, who has been consistently challenging for the top spot in recent races, finally broke through to claim the Men's 8K title. Smith clocked a winning time of 28 minutes and 58 seconds (28:58).
The victory was hard-earned, with the competition breathing down his neck. Philip Woollins finished a close second, stopping the clock at 29:13. Rounding out the men's podium was Dylan Eiselt, who secured third place with a time of 29:33.
In the women's race, Teresa Ruiz put in another strong performance to secure the female title. Ruiz was the ninth runner overall to cross the line, clocking a winning time of 31:44.
Ruiz faced a challenge from the second female finisher, Stepanka Sprincova, who crossed the line 12th overall with a time of 32:17. Isabelle Brown rounded out the female podium, finishing 19th overall with a time of 35:31.
The event saw both champions set fast paces to secure their respective wins ahead of the competitive holiday season.
