Hibs Academy are ramping up their preparations for their crucial UEFA Youth League third round first leg match against Ukrainian youth champions Dynamo Kyiv, with Bermudian international Logan Jimenez returning from senior duty to join the squad.
The Hibs Academy squad, including Jimenez, has been training at the astroturf facilities directly next to the Stal Stalowa Wola Stadium ahead of Wednesday afternoon's highly anticipated clash.
The match marks a significant test against the reigning Ukrainian youth champions, Dynamo Kyiv.
Jimenez, who recently achieved his senior international debut during the November international break, spoke about the experience and its timing ahead of the UEFA Youth League fixture.
The newly-capped Bermudian played twice for his country, including a starting spot versus World Cup-bound Curacao in official FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
He expressed his long-awaited excitement and nerves: "It was a great experience to make my debut for my country. I've been waiting to get the call-up for about almost five months now, so I'm glad that I finally got the call-up."
"It was great to start my debut as well. Obviously, I didn't get the result that I wanted on my debut, but it was still a great debut and when we went to Trinidad, we got a good result there."
Jimenez admitted the atmosphere initially got to him: "Honestly, I was really nervous when I was walking out and all the fans were, all the air horns were going, all the fans were going crazy as well." He concluded, "But yeah, it was a very nervous feeling, but I was very excited to make my debut."
His return from competitive senior action will be a significant boost to the Hibs Academy squad as they prepare for the European test.
