The weekend's Premier Division action was marred by an abandonment at the Southampton Oval, while the games that were played delivered high drama, including a convincing win for the North Village Rams and a stoppage-time winner for Devonshire Cougars.

PREMIER DIVISION

Paget Lions 0 Devonshire Colts 0 - Match Abandoned


The match scheduled for Southampton Oval between Paget Lions and Devonshire Colts was abandoned before it started. During the popular Football Show, Southampton Rangers President Darren Burchall indicated that it was the Paget Lions who requested the game to be called off following an attempt to attack a Paget player during the warm-up, an incident that is likely to draw scrutiny from the league authorities.

North Village Rams 5 Boulevard Blazers 0

North Village Rams secured a decisive 5-0 victory over the Boulevard Blazers at Bernard Park, maintaining strong pressure looking to defend their title.

Jonte Smith opened the scoring in the 14th minute. An own goal in the 44th minute doubled the Rams' lead heading into the break. In the second half, Knory Scott extended the lead with goals in the 61st and 68th minutes, before Pierre Smith rounded off the scoring in the 80th minute.

St. George's Colts 2 X-Roads 2

The match at Wellington Oval between St. George's Colts and X-Road's ended in a 2-2 draw, dominated by penalty kicks.

X-Road’s took a 1-0 lead into the break via a Donavan Thompson goal in the 5th minute. The Colts levelled through a Kashe Hall penalty in the 53rd minute. Two minutes later, X-Road’s reclaimed the lead from the spot through Paul Simons. Hall ensured the points were shared by converting his second penalty in the 78th minute.

Dandy Town 1 Devonshire Cougars 2

In the closest contest of the day, Devonshire Cougars secured all three points with a dramatic 2-1 win over Dandy Town Hornets at White Hill Field.

After a scoreless first half, Chae Brangman gave the Cougars the lead in the 69th minute. Malik Joell equalised for Dandy Town ten minutes later. However, Brangman became the hero for the Cougars, scoring the game-winner one minute into stoppage time to seal the 2-1 result.

FIRST DIVISION

Wolves 1 Vasco 0


In the First Division, Wolves edged a tight contest against Vasco at Bernard Park, winning 1-0.

The match was decided late in the 87th minute by an own goal, handing Wolves the crucial three points and leaving Vasco with heartache.

Hamilton Parish 0 Somerset Eagles 1

Hamilton Parish defaulted their third league match of the season this handing the Somerset Eagles a 3 - 0 victory at the Wellington Oval.
