Bermudian stars Michael Madeiros and Jah’Zion Taylor, with Bermuda‑resident Heris Ziai, lead St. Andrew’s College to back‑to‑back regional and national titles
A powerful Bermudian presence helped fuel a record‑making season for St. Andrew’s College (SAC) 1st Soccer, as the Saints clinched both the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) league crown and the Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) national title—for the second consecutive year. The achievement marks an unprecedented double‑double for the program, with SAC going undefeated in league play (8‑0‑1) and keeping a perfect clean sheet through the national tournament.
Driving this historic run was the outstanding contribution of Bermudians Michael Madeiros ’27 and Jah’Zion Taylor ’27, along with Bermuda resident Heris Ziai ’27. Their performances—on and off the field—were pivotal in SAC’s defensive strength, attacking flair, and cohesive team dynamic.
Madeiros, a starting fullback, has emerged as one of SAC’s most dependable and exciting players. His tactical intelligence, strength in duels, and composure under pressure made him a defensive anchor in every match. In the CAIS semifinal, Madeiros delivered a moment of brilliance—rising above defenders to score a powerful header, helping send SAC to the final.
On the wings, Taylor brought pace, creativity, and relentless pressure, constantly stretching opposition backlines and creating scoring chances throughout the season. Ziai, despite managing a mid-season injury, remained a vital part of the squad’s unity—offering leadership, strategic insight, and support both on and off the field.
Coach Adrian Bradbury shared, “Michael, Jah’Zion and Heris have consistently raised their level this year, and Michael’s goal in the semifinal was a huge boost for the squad. Their work ethic, skills and team-first approach reflect the character we're building at SAC. It's fantastic to have Bermuda — not just part of our current success — but shaping our program's legacy.”
