Nova Southeastern University (NSU) women's soccer sealed a phenomenal regular season by defeating Embry-Riddle 2-0 in their final match, a victory that saw them officially clinch the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) regular-season championship title.
The team received the coveted championship trophy in a jubilant postgame ceremony, celebrating their success after navigating the highly competitive SSC schedule.
Among the celebrants was Bermudian player Emily Cabral, who was able to join her teammates for the post-match ceremony despite having been sidelined due to injury. Cabral, who has been battling a torn meniscus, has missed recent action but was integral to the team's atmosphere and success throughout the season.
The moment allowed Cabral to share in the team's achievement, marking a high point in the season for the whole NSU squad as they now turn their focus to the post-season tournaments. The regular-season title underscores NSU's dominance in the conference this year and sets them up as a top contender for the upcoming NCAA tournament.
