Cup Fever BFA Shield & Friendship Trophy Draws Revealed

The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) ramped up excitement for the domestic cup competitions today, hosting the draws for the prestigious Shield and Friendship Trophy at the Clyde Best Center of Excellence Boardroom.
The draws delivered several mouth-watering matchups, setting the stage for cup glory later this season.
The Shield, contested by the First Division teams, sees all eight clubs enter the Quarter-Final stage.
The most anticipated tussle of the round is set to be the clash between the Somerset Eagles and Southampton Rangers. The Rangers will be chasing a record-extending seventh Shield title, but the Eagles are sure to provide a stern test.
Elsewhere, the Somerset Trojans, who were Shield runners-up last year, begin their quest for glory by taking on St. David’s.
Attention then turned to the Friendship Trophy draw, which immediately delivered a preliminary round fixture featuring two of the tournament's most decorated clubs.
Record 14-time winners PHC Zebras will face off against 11-time winners North Village Rams in a blockbuster preliminary tie. In the other preliminary match, the St. George's Colts, who have lifted the trophy once, are set to take on the Paget Lions.
The winners of the preliminary round will meet in the Friendship Quarter-Final. The draw also delivered some compelling direct Quarter-Final ties:
Defending champions Dandy Town Hornets will meet the Boulevard Blazers, the team that won the Shield Trophy on New Year's Day.
Two teams that have been evenly balanced over the last few years, X-Road’s, will face the Devonshire Colts in a tightly contested derby.
