It was an uncharacteristically difficult morning for Nayan Grant and his Gillingham Academy teammates, who came out with a comprehensive 4-0 win in their Youth Alliance fixture against Portsmouth.
Kicking off bright and early at 11am, the young Gills were able to find their footing against a sharper Portsmouth side. The visitors took control of the match early and built up a decisive lead.
By the 57th minute, Gillingham found themselves leading 3-0, a scoreline that reflected Gillingham's dominance. It was shortly after the third goal that aggression appeared to boil over for the Bermudian defender. Nayan Grant was shown a yellow card by the referee, marking a challenging moment in what was already a tough day for their opponents.
Gillingham would go on to score one more goal, sealing the 4-0 victory.
