Premier & First Division Round-Up

IslandStats.com
A captivating day of football across Bermuda saw top teams solidify their positions, with late-game heroics and dominant displays defining the weekend's action in both the Premier and First Divisions.

PREMIER DIVISION

Devonshire Colts 4 St. George’s Colts 0

The Premier Division witnessed a comfortable victory for Devonshire Colts, who won the battle of the namesakes by defeating St. George’s Colts 4-0 at the Police Field.

Senoj Mitchell opened the scoring in the 15th minute and bagged his second in the 61st, sandwiching a 51st-minute strike from Elisha Darrell. Chemarl Henry sealed the emphatic win deep into stoppage time with the fourth goal.

X’Road’s 3 Boulevard Blazers 2

X’Road’s earned a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Boulevard Blazers at Lord’s in St. David’s.

After X-Road’s had taken a two-goal lead through Paul Simons (38') and Donavan Thompson (62'), the Blazers staged a fierce comeback with goals from Jah Zion Talbot Thomas (64') and substitute Ijahmon Mallory (86').

However, Thompson proved the hero, scoring his second goal in the 92nd minute to snatch the late winner and keep X-Road’s level on points with the Hornets.

Paget Lions 0 Dandy Town Hornets 1

Dandy Town Hornets edged the Paget Lions 1-0 at the Southampton Oval.

Securing the win keeps them joint leaders atop the table thanks to David Jones's 17th-minute lone goal.

FIRST DIVISION

Southampton Rangers 0 Somerset Trojans 2

The Somerset Trojans have taken the top spot in the First Division, remaining unbeaten after three matches thanks to a 2-0 victory over the Southampton Rangers at the Southampton Oval.

After a scoreless first half, Khymani McNeil broke the deadlock in the 54th minute, and Leo Burgess converted a penalty in the 74th minute to seal the clean sheet win.

St. David’s 3 Hamilton Parish 0

St. David’s should be awarded a 3-0 victory after visitors Hamilton Parish arrived at Lord’s with only eight players and elected to forfeit the match.

Robin Hood 4 Wolves 3

In the most dramatic match of the day, Robin Hood staged an astonishing comeback against Wolves. Wolves looked to have the game locked up after first-half goals from Sergio Richardson (36'), Antoine Wade (37'), and Khari Sharrieff (HT stoppage time) gave them a commanding 3-0 lead.

However, Robin Hood roared back, winning 4-3. The comeback was spearheaded by a stunning hat-trick from Keishen Bean (56', 73', 84'), with Samuel Carolo adding the first goal in the 50th minute to start the turnaround. The result gives Robin Hood their second win in two matches.
