The clouds gathered over Trinity College School, but the weather only seemed to spur on the harriers competing in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) Cross-Country Championships, resulting in strong performances and several qualifications for the provincial stage.
The Senior School runners delivered impressive results, with one team and two individual athletes officially stamping their tickets to the prestigious Ontario Federation Schools Athletic Association (OFSAA) Championships.
Leading the individual success was Maddy Schindel, who capped off a wonderful season on the trails by securing a silver medal in the Junior Girls race. Schindel delivered a powerful run, finishing second overall with a time of 21:56.6.
This high finish ensures Schindel an automatic place at the upcoming OFSAA Championships, providing a major boost for the Trinity College School team as they prepare for the provincial finals. The full details of the qualifying team and the second individual qualifier are expected shortly.
