Sanchez Smith and Estienne Coetzee claimed the top honours in the Swans Club Charity Run 5K, with the event starting and finishing at the scenic John Smith's Bay.
In a dominant performance, Smith secured the Male Champion title and was the first runner across the line overall, clocking a winning time of 17 minutes and 12 seconds (17:12).
The overall second finisher, and the undisputed Female Champion, was Coetzee. She completed the course in an impressive time of 19:18.
The battle for the remaining men’s podium spots was a closely run affair:
Riley Brislane was the third runner overall and secured the title of second male finisher with a time of 20:01.
Rounding out the male podium was Dave Courcy, who was just three seconds behind Brislane, clocking 20:04.
The women’s race for the podium was equally competitive:
Stepanka Sprincova finished as the second female runner, and fifth overall, with a strong time of 20:05.
The final podium spot in the female division went to veteran runner Rose-Anna Hoey, who secured third place among the women and was eighth overall, crossing the line in 20:54.
The charity event successfully brought together runners of all abilities for a worthy cause, with the top finishers setting a strong pace on the Smiths Parish course.
