Liana De Medeiros and her University of Toronto Varsity Blues Women's Cross Country teammates finished sixth in the overall team standings at the 8-Kay Marauder Invitational in Hamilton, Ontario.
The University of Toronto accumulated a total of 156 points in the Women's 8km race, demonstrating strong pack running in the competitive field.
Leading the University of Toronto effort was fifth-year student Julia Agostinelli, who continued her excellent form this season by finishing second overall with a time of 27 minutes, 30 seconds.
The team's scorers saw a strong contribution from second-year De Medeiros, who finished as the third fastest Varsity Blues runner. De Medeiros finished 39th overall after crossing the line in 30:02.
Rounding out Toronto's top five were Sarah White (28:59), Kaitlyn Koyanagi (30:44), and first-year Madison Sparkman (31:08). The result provides a key indicator of form as the season progresses towards the championship phase.
