Tennis player Daniel Phillips has concluded his impressive run at the M15 Monastir ATP Tour Tournament in Tunisia, falling in his second-round main draw match.
Phillips took to the court to face American tennis player Cooper Williams. Williams, who has a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 847, is a notable talent, having also won the boys' doubles title alongside compatriot Learner Tien at the 2023 Australian Open.
Phillips, who had successfully navigated the qualifying rounds and won his first main draw match, battled hard. However, he ultimately fell in straight sets to the American, with Williams claiming a 7-5, 6-1 victory.
Despite the second-round exit, Phillips's performance in Monastir marks another significant step in his burgeoning professional career. Having successfully qualified for two consecutive ATP Tour main draws and secured a main draw victory, his consistency and ability to compete at this level continue to grow. This experience against a strong opponent like Williams will undoubtedly prove valuable as Phillips continues his journey on the professional circuit.
