Adam Hall played a crucial offensive role for the Biloxi Shuckers on Friday night, as his team secured a 3-0 victory over the Columbus Clingstones at Synovus Park. The win was spearheaded by a superb pitching performance from Brett Wichrowski, which saw the Shuckers record their fourth shutout of the season.
Wichrowski was in dominant form, retiring 16 of the final 17 batters he faced. He tied his career-high with six shutout innings, leading the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers to a commanding performance. The Shuckers' pitching staff impressively held an opponent hitless after the first inning for the seventh time in franchise history, extending a streak of holding opponents to four runs or less to five consecutive games.
Hall, making his second appearance since returning from injury, began the scoring in the fourth inning. He stepped up and ripped a two-RBI double off the wall in left-center field, bringing home Matthew Wood and Darrien Miller to give Biloxi a 2-0 lead. Miller then extended that lead in the sixth inning, blasting his third home run of the year, a solo shot to right-center, making it 3-0.
The Shuckers' offence was widespread, with seven of their nine starters recording a hit. Hall himself contributed to this offensive output with a multi-hit performance, going 2-for-4 at the plate. Mike Boeve (2-for-5) and Darrien Miller (2-for-3) also had multi-hit games. Overall, the Shuckers registered five extra-base hits, including four doubles and Miller's home run, showcasing their power.
The Biloxi Shuckers will continue their series with the Columbus Clingstones tonight at Synovus Park.
