Hasim Ming and Naomi MacGuinness have been crowned the Male and Female champions of the 2025 Heritage Day Junior Classic, a traditional race held as part of Bermuda's national holiday celebrations.
Ming delivered a dominant performance in the boys' race, securing a comfortable 18-second victory over his nearest rival. He crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 11 minutes and 31 seconds. Nathan Foster Skelton finished second, clocking 11 minutes and 49 seconds, while Gomez Caines rounded out the boys' podium in third place with a time of 11 minutes and 56 seconds.
In the girls' race, Naomi MacGuinness also put in a strong performance, crossing the line as the fourth runner overall with a time of 11 minutes and 59 seconds. Colette Durkin was the second female finisher, placing eighth overall with a time of 12 minutes and 21 seconds. Evelyn Fahy was the third female to finish, crossing the line in 11th place overall with a time of 12 minutes and 28 seconds.
The Heritage Day Junior Classic provides a platform for Bermuda's young athletes to showcase their talent on a significant national holiday. The victories of Hasim Ming and Naomi MacGuinness mark them as promising talents in the island's running community.
