Jake Smith and Stepanka Sprincova were crowned the male and female champions respectively at the 3rd annual Waterfront Wellness 5k, a scenic race that commenced on the water's edge at Harry's Restaurant and culminated inside the vibrant Waterfront Plaza.
Smith powered through the course to claim the men's title with an impressive winning time of 17 minutes and 31 seconds. Philip Woollins put in a strong performance to finish second, crossing the line in 17 minutes and 57 seconds. Tim Price completed the men's podium, securing third place with a time of 18 minutes and 2 seconds.
Sprincova showcased her endurance and speed, finishing as the fifth runner overall and the first female participant with a winning time of 19 minutes and 24 seconds. Meghan Diel was the second female to complete the 5k, crossing the line as the ninth runner overall in 20 minutes and 4 seconds. Rose-Anna Hoey rounded out the female podium, finishing twelfth overall with a time of 20 minutes and 34 seconds.
The Waterfront Wellness 5k once again proved to be a popular event, attracting runners of all abilities to enjoy the picturesque course and the lively atmosphere surrounding the Waterfront Plaza finish line. The victories of Smith and Sprincova were well-deserved after their strong performances on the day.
